Loss

William was lost on February 27, 19791 when the A-7E Corsair II he was piloting crashed in the Mediterranean Sea. He was a member of Attack Squadron (VA) 12, operating from USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69).

William graduated from Highlands High School (Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania) in 1971 where he participated in the Forensic Club and the golf team. Swimming, Co-captain; Varsity – 1; Speech – 1.
