Loss
Harold was lost on August 25, 1947 when his plane crashed at sea seven miles east of Kitty Hawk, N.C. (From November 1947 issue of Shipmate).

Harold graduated from Thomas Aquinas Grammar School and Boston Latin School. He also attended Northeastern University where he studied engineering. The quote for him underneath his entry in the 1939 yearbook read “Be Noble” - Lowell. Full quote: Be noble, and the nobleness that lies in other men, sleeping but never dead, will rise in majesty to meet thine own. – James Russell Lowell (1819-1891)
He served with the 3d Fleet in the Pacific aboard the cruiser USS Flint (CL 97). After the war, he was assigned to the Naval Air Station at Pensacola where he received his wings.
Harold was also survived by his sister Lorraine. His father Harold was a civil engineer, mother Mary. His parents divorced before 1930.
