Richard was lost on June 30, 1969 when the aircraft he was aboard crashed at Kingsville, Texas.

Lt. Richard P. Williams, USN, died 30 June at Kingsville, Tex., as the result of an aircraft accident. Services were held at the Naval Training Base at Kingsville, followed by interment in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, San Diego, Calif.
Lt. Williams, born in Brownwood, Tex., was a member of the Eleventh Company at the Naval Academy and was graduated in June 1966. He served in the USS AGERHOLM on patrol off Vietnam prior to flight training. Attached to the Training Squadron 21 based at Kingsville, he was undergoing training in the Advanced Training Command at the time of the accident. Lt. Williams was both awarded his wings and promoted to the rank of lieutenant, posthumously.
He is survived by his widow Suzanne of 5018 Santa Cruz Ave., San Diego, Ca. 92107; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Williams of 1223 Park Circle, Las Vegas, Nv. 89102, and a brother Mark Williams. He is buried in San Diego.
