EDGILLE V. HALL

Eddie

Battalion Cross Country; Battalion Soccer; Battalion Track; Radio Club 4; G.P.O.

“Happy go lucky,” from the Hills of Kentucky, that’s “Eddie.” No matter where or when, whatever Eddie attempts he’ll just get by, but he’ll succeed at the task. Never having missed a hop, Eddie’s biggest worry is women. The rub is that the pretty girls can’t resist him any more than he can resist a pretty girl. Always ready to help anyone, he’s everyone’s friend.

The Class of 1942 graduated on December 19, 1941, less than two weeks after the United States entered World War II. The class had previously been scheduled to graduate in February 1942.

Loss

Edgille was lost when his PB4Y-2 crashed on central Mindoro, Philippines, on July 30, 1945. He was co-pilot; also lost were the other nine men aboard. They were conducting a search for a missing PBM Mariner and C-47 Dakota.

Other Information

From researcher Kathy Franz:

Edgille married Marilyn Ruth Roy on September 2, 1945, at her parents’ home in Mansura, Louisiana. At the time, he was stationed in Jacksonville.

His father Milford was a farmer who later became a merchant, mother Birdie, and sisters Alta and Opal.

He is buried in Kentucky.
