Loss
Edward was lost on September 18, 1952 when the T-6 aircraft he was aboard crashed near Hondo, Texas. The instructor pilot was also killed. (Information from November 1952 issue of Shipmate.)

He graduated from English High School with honors in 1947. Known as “Eddie” in high school, His Ambition: U.S. Navy. College: Annapolis. Fidelity Prize 3; Yearbook staff Chairman 4; Trick Squad 4; Patrol 4; Office Aide 4; Individual Prize Winner in Competitive Drill 3; Spelling Bee 3; Class Vice President 3; 2d Lieut. 4.
He had a year at Boston College before receiving a congressional appointment to the Naval Academy.
Edward was a nephew of Senator William J. Keenan of Dorchester, Mass. Besides his parents, he was also survived by his two sisters, Mrs. John McGurdy and Catherine Jane Greer.
He is buried in Texas.
